test 2

I’m thrilled to report that the manuscript for The Ember Spire has officially reached 71,000 words! Unfortunately, only 69,000 of those words are in the correct order, and approximately 700 are just me typing “WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS” to my own characters.
But fear not—this is what editing is for.

test 2

1. Progress on The Ember Spire (Book 2!)

2. Goblin Interference Continues

In an absolutely unprecedented move, goblins broke into my writing room this week and rearranged the plot outline for Book 3. Witnesses (my cat) confirm at least three goblins were involved, one riding the Roomba like a war steed.
I’ve requested the Goblin Council return my index cards. Negotiations are ongoing.

3. Audiobook News!

For those asking when the audiobook of Ash & Antlers will drop:
Good news! My narrator, Thoren Ironvoice, has recovered from the mysterious “echo curse” that caused every line to sound like it was spoken in a haunted cavern. We’re back on track, and chapters are being recorded again—this time in a non-haunted room.

4. Upcoming Events

I’ll be doing a virtual reading this Saturday!
 I’ll be sharing:

  • A never-before-seen snippet
  • A scene that definitely won’t be in the final book
  • And a Q&A, during which I will answer questions but refuse to explain why so many of my characters emotionally repress everything
5. Merch Poll

Some of you have asked for merch (bless your chaotic hearts). Options I’m considering:
“I Survived the Goblin Tax” mugs
Stickers of my dragon protagonist looking unimpressed
A tote bag that simply says “I Like My Fantasy Books, and Maybe Three People”

Vote soon—before the goblins do.

Thanks for reading, champions of the realm. Your support keeps me writing, keeps the goblins afraid, and keeps the coffee pot full.
Until next time,
—Your Friendly Neighborhood Fantasy Author
